Salgaocar FC striker Darrly Duffy was recently named the Best Foreign Player at the Football Players Association of India (FPAI) Indian Football Awards.
The former Swansea City stiker admitted that the level of football in India took him by surprise.
“The standard of the Indian football was higher than I had expected," he said.
The forward who went through a rough patch in the middle of the season and was grateful to the partnership he struck with Dudu Omagbemi who arrived midway through the season. Duffy was the join top scorer in the I-League with 14 goals to his name.
“Dudu (Omagbemi) was of great help in the mid-season. I was going through a dry patch and his inclusion helped me a lot. I have always been a player who will like to have a great striking partner.”
