Atletico de Kolkata, the Kolkata franchise of the much popular Indian Super League (ISL), which struck the right chord with fans across the country, are in conversation with Cerezo Osaka striker Diego Forlan to be their marquee signing for the second edition of the competition, Goal can reveal.
Atletico de Kolkata, which is co-owned by Atletico de Madrid, are interested in roping in the Uruguayan forward who scored 74 goals for the Spanish club in 134 appearances for them and helped them win the Europa League, back in 2010.
It is learnt that Forlan’s contract is set to expire in May this year and the forward has struggled to adapt life in Japan following his $5.8 million move to the J-League.
Should Forlan complete his move to Atletico de Kolkata, this would be the second occasion when the former Inter Milan striker visits the City of Joy after having judged a talent hunt show back in 2010 with over 40,000 fans in attendance.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
