Douhou Pierre joins Salgaocar in a year-long deal

Douhou Pierre, the elegant playmaker who has been plying his trade for Pune FC since 2009, has now decided to join Salgaocar FC for the next season, Goal can confirm.

Deemed as one of the most creative players in the I-League, he is amongst a handful of players who has played every match in the I-League this term.

Douhou first played under Derrick Pereira at Mahindra United for a couple of seasons before deciding to join Pune FC to work under the Goan coach.

When contacted, Salgaocar FC officials didn't deny that Douhou would join their roster in the upcoming season but refused to give an official word on it.

Douhou's performances this season saw him being named amongst the Football Players Association of India's (FPAI) Fans' Player of the Year award at the Indian Football Awards.
